Halfway to a Hundie

A small recap of the night. It was my dad's 50th birthday (he's turning into a geezer.. my sister's words not mine) and we celebrated with dinner at a nice golf club and cake!

Here's to: reaching the halfway point to 100,
being a year closer to playing golf every day,
being happy and healthy each day,
and being the definition of "success".

Con yêu bố/ I love you dad. :)

Lazy Days

A photo I took during the summer. It's been so long since I've shot any photos. :(

Sea Breeze

With all this sunshine and warm weather, I couldn't be happier spending time outside - whether it be soaking some rays while catching up on some English reading or going for lovely bike rides! This past weekend was the beginning (?) of this totally awesome my mind can't handle of any of it great weather, and I was lucky enough to spend it with this cool kid called A. I'll leave the photos to speak for themselves. :)

Of Freedom

ATTENTION IMAGE HEAVY POST
Hola hombres, sorry I haven't been posting as of late, I've been indulging in some good ol' me time in the form of sleeping in and living in my pyjamas at home. Hot stuff, you know it. Here are some (this is an understatement) photos that I took last weekend when I went out with some friends for some good fun - which included me going to a local tourist attraction and acting like a tourist with my point and shoot camera. Btw, I don't know how I got an A- in English when I just wrote "good fun". At the moment I'm looking for jobs/ internships (I know, being a first year is TOTALLY appealing to prospective employers) before summer school starts. What're you guys up to?

Capture It

I really hate it when I see a beautiful scene and I don't have my camera on me to capture the image. Especially when I go on runs too. This could be a sign that I'm supposed to bring my camera on my runs. IT'S A SIGN JENNIFER. Here's an old photo of a bottle, with some edits. :)

Pictures With My Eyes

I've always wanted to take pictures with my eyes, since my good ol' (note sarcasm) Nikon point and shoot has some issues. Never ever ever ever buy my model (some coolpix), despite how cheap it is. End rant. Other than that, I went on a nice walk and snapped some photos with a friend after a mentally exhausting lecture. The sun has been making some appearances this week, and hopefully it'll stay like this for a little longer. I already see some flowers beginning to bloom, spring is coming (HOORAY)!

I may or may not be addicted to the selective colour function on my camera.

One of my favourite necklaces, a pocket watch! :)

I don't usually like blurry pictures, but there's something about the softness that makes me not want to curse at my camera and/or skills.

Midterms are in full swing, and I'll do my best to post some outfit, food, and art (because heck, I've been neglecting my beloved sketchbook :( ) photos over the next few weeks.

Lots of love,
Jennifer

P.S. I probably will and risk my GPA in doing so because photography has now become an addiction. Note that I am also addicted to wearing my boots.

Show Me The Colour!

It's rather sad to say that my weekend consisted primarily of my research of... the flatworm. That's right, yours truly spent her Friday night (and more) learning about the glories and wonders of the majestic creature (not). Okay, so I might be bitter about university right now. BUT ONWARD. I spent some time at a friend's house and was able to indulge in some goodies.

Egg rolls and dumplings!

Playing around with my melon like a kid. This may or may not be a reference to a particular statue at a school on the West Coast. 100 points if you get it.

Instant noodles! I can't remember the last time I had this (tends to avoid anything instant like the plague)

My outfit for Friday (since wearing pyjamas all day Saturday doesn't count as an outfit). Since I don't have a tripod, I can only show the items I wore. If I've noticed something, almost all the things I wore are old. I tend to wear the stuff I love until it falls apart... and it looks like some of my things are well on their way...I really need to go thrifting sometime :(

V-neck: Off the Wall; tank: Old Navy; cardigan: H&M; scarf: gift; jeans: Seduction; belt: Kenneth Cole; shoes: Vans

The Little Things

TGIF. This week has been a rough ride for a couple reasons, but I'm glad to have made it through sane (kind of). Here are the pictures I promised to post (taken on a Nikon point and shoot). These were all taken in the late afternoon, as the sun was setting after my Calculus lecture. Honestly, the camera doesn't do any of the pictures justice- aka I personally think it's a piece of junk, but poor university students can't be too picky eh?

A nice angle of the bridge of the university's Japanese garden. I'd love to take some shots with a friend when spring comes and the trees are in bloom. :)

My personal favourite of the day, there's something about the perspective that I particularly like (ignore the time stamp of doom).

(at this point I learned how to disable the annoying time stamp)

Okay, I promise that I wasn't trying to stalk these men, I just wanted to compare the size of them to the mountains and sky(worst explanation ever).

My feeble attempt to make an artistic shot with my necklace (gifted by my lovely sister) and my glasses. I'm trying! :(

Blog, meet my boots. Boots, meet my blog. I scored these babies during Boxing Day at Winners for about $30. There's something about the texture and lacing that makes me feel 110% more badass.

It was cold that day, and I was too stubborn foolish to put on my mitts. The result? Terribly numb and pink hands. And I am still doing this to myself. Sorry hands.

It's 1 in the morning and I have a ton of stuff to tackle over the weekend (and Chinese New Year is approaching too!), so I'll be hitting the hay. Or spending some more time on fb, then complaining. Thanks for bearing with the image heavy post! :)

Who's that girl?

My photo
Hola, I'm an aspiring illustrator scientist (do those exist?) who occasionally dresses well. Lets be friends. :)
